The company's initial project is the copper-gold Swift Katie porphyry/shear-hosted property located seven kilometres southwest of the village of Salmo, BC in the Nelson Mining District. The project consists of 13 contiguous MTO mineral claims, covering 7,064 hectares and was the subject of a recent joint venture agreement.
In August 2009, the company entered into a working option agreement with Tosca Mining Corp. (formerly JRTL Capital Corp.) to acquire a 60% interest in the property (subject to a 3% NSR). On a five-year aggregate basis, JRTL is required to pay Valterra CDN$ 155,000.00 dollars, issue 500,000 shares, and incur exploration expenditures on the property totalling CDN$ 3.0M dollars (see news release dated August 28, 2009).

An independent geological report summarizing the historical exploration and technical merits of the project was completed in July 2007. The Swift-Katie Copper-Gold Property Technical Report, by Makepeace and Price, was prepared in compliance with NI43-101 standards and is available for viewing on SEDAR at www.sedar.com.
The property is within a geologically favourable and highly metallogenic area of British Columbia that historically has hosted several important mining camps, including the 3.5M ounce past-producing Rossland Camp. Three mineral showings called the Katie (or Jim), Swift (Gus) and Ace in the Hole were for many years explored separately in claims with different ownership. There have been numerous geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys completed on the property with some of the most significant work funded by subsidiaries of Noranda and Falconbridge in the 1980s-90s. These programs identified several exploration targets with mineralized zones resembling alkalic porphyry copper-gold deposits (Katie) and more gold-enriched vein and shear hosted zones (Swift).

Geology Legend

During 2007 and 2008, Valterra completed over 4,000 metres of diamond drilling, collared 13 holes on the Katie Main and 17 zones (pyrite-chalcopyrite dominant) and collected in excess of 2,500 samples for analyses (see news release dated January 26, 2009). Additionally, Fugro Airborne Surveys Corp. flew 505-line kilometres of heli-borne DIGHEM electromagnetic-resistivity-magnetic geophysics over 95% of the property identifying numerous anomalies worthy of follow-up.
